Privacy Policy

Last updated May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how News Tracker AI (“News Tracker AI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use newstrackerai.com and any related products and services (collectively, the “Service”). It applies globally and contains additional sections for individuals located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), the United Kingdom, and California. By using the Service you acknowledge this Policy.

1. Who is the controller

News Tracker AI is the data controller responsible for processing your personal data in connection with the Service. For privacy inquiries, data subject requests, and complaints, contact us at privacy@newstrackerai.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service:
  • Account information — email address, optional display name, language preference, time zone, and authentication identifiers.
  • Content you provide — topics you choose to track, search prompts, feedback, and any text you submit through the product.
  • Billing identifiers — if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor stores your card details. We never receive or store full card numbers; we only retain customer and subscription identifiers needed for plan management.
  • Device and log data — IP address, user agent, referring URL, request timestamps, and similar technical information automatically generated by your browser. We retain this only as long as needed for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy.

We do not knowingly collect government identifiers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or any other category of sensitive personal information.

3. How we use information

We process personal data only for the following purposes:
  • To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate you, manage your account, and provide customer support.
  • To send transactional communications (sign-in, receipts, security notices, and product updates you opted into).
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
  • To produce de-identified, aggregate analytics for capacity and quality monitoring.

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not use your personal data to train third-party machine-learning models without your consent.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

If you are located in the EEA or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the UK GDPR:
  • Performance of a contract — to deliver the Service you requested and to manage your account and subscriptions (Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve the Service, prevent abuse, and communicate essential service information, balanced against your rights and freedoms (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Consent — for non-essential cookies, marketing communications, push notifications, or other optional features that require it. You may withdraw consent at any time (Art. 6(1)(a)).
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law and lawful requests (Art. 6(1)(c)).

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal data only with vendors that help us operate the Service, and only to the extent necessary. These categories include:
  • Cloud hosting and database providers (application and storage infrastructure).
  • Background processing and workflow execution providers.
  • AI service providers that process content you submit so we can return summaries and other AI-generated outputs.
  • Communications providers used to send transactional email and push notifications.
  • Payment processors for subscription billing.
  • Analytics, error monitoring, and security tooling, where used.
  • Public news, financial-data, and content providers used to deliver the Service.

All vendors are contractually bound to safeguard your personal data and process it only on our instructions. We may also disclose personal data when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a corporate transaction, or with your consent.

A current list of subprocessors is available on request to privacy@newstrackerai.com.

6. International transfers

The Service is operated from, and personal data is processed in, the United States and other countries where our vendors operate. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to a country that has not been deemed adequate, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. and UK-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks. You may request a copy of the transfer mechanism applicable to your data.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period thereafter. Backups are retained for limited periods and are overwritten on a rolling basis. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for capacity, quality, and security purposes.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
  • To access the personal data we hold about you.
  • To correct inaccurate personal data.
  • To request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • To restrict or object to certain processing.
  • To data portability (receiving your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format).
  • To withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • To lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., your local Data Protection Authority in the EEA, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or the relevant authority in your jurisdiction).

To exercise these rights, email privacy@newstrackerai.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, typically thirty (30) days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

9. California privacy notice (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights regarding personal information:
  • Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources of that information, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties with whom it is shared.
  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect sensitive personal information).
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any CCPA right.

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under sixteen (16) years of age. To submit a verifiable request, email privacy@newstrackerai.com. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to identity verification.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of thirteen (13) (or sixteen (16) in the EEA). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

11. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls, audit logging, and least-privilege credentials. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Data breach notification

If we become aware of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within seventy-two (72) hours where required by law and notify affected users without undue delay, consistent with applicable law.

13. Automated decision-making

The Service uses AI to summarize, classify, and rank publicly available news content. These automated processes do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. We do not use automated decision-making to deny services, set prices, or take adverse action against you within the meaning of GDPR Article 22.

14. Third-party links and content

The Service references and links to third-party news articles, financial data, and other public information. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those third parties. Their use of your information is governed by their own policies.

15. EU representative

If and when our processing reaches a scope that requires designating a representative in the European Union under GDPR Article 27 or in the United Kingdom under UK GDPR Article 27, we will appoint one and publish the relevant contact details here.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means, which may include email or in-product notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

17. Contact

For questions, requests, or complaints, contact privacy@newstrackerai.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to contact your local data protection authority.
